Advertising and wayfinding totem and pylon signage
The team at Tara are highly experienced in the manufacture and installation of Totem and Pylon signs, as a result we can report that the tallest totem sign that we have designed, built, delivered and installed to date is the ‘The Outlet’ in Banbridge, Northern Ireland. This totem is a staggering 16.5 metres high and encases an internal staircase.
We use colour changing technology for the Renault Totems, this is where the text shows black in the daytime and shines out white at night. In addition these Totem signs are built out of a 6.5 metre one piece - without any panel joins - which as a result look truly impressive.
Furthermore the Integrated solar panels used on remote Totem and Pylon signage save on the expensive and labour-intensive laying of electrical cables. In addition reducing your impact on the environment. In conclusion it is a visible demonstration of your business’ commitment to environmental causes.

Attic Self Storage signage installation
At a new site location in Marylebone
The Tara Signs team are delighted to venture into the new market of Self Storage. We started our journey with the signage for the quickly expanding Attic Self Storage Company. The first site we completed was located in the middle of the flower market in Marylebone.
Firstly, as this was a new site location for Attic, a few site visits were required to assess the location. Secondly, a detailed site survey was completed. Thirdly, with the site survey now complete the manufacturing could get underway. Without delay the signage was manufactured. Once complete the installation team travelled up to London to install the colourful signage. The vibrant Attic corporate brand identity looks great nestled in the Flower Market location. It really stands out when illuminated. In the foreground the information vinyls and entrance signage is clearly visible to attract the Attic customers.

Motorcycle Signage and showroom fit-out
In 2019 Tara Signs took on the project to manufacture and install the MV Agusta motorcycle signage for Alf's Motorcycles showroom in Worthing. The challenge was to work the design around the available space in the showroom whilst adhering to the strict MV Agusta brand guidelines. However this was not a problem for the experienced Tara team, who designed a work around that worked perfectly.
The project included the fit-out of the showroom so we designed and manufactured Motorcycle display podiums - the display units and walls were covered in a specialist adhesive woodgrain embossed vinyl with a realistic aged oak effect meeting the MV Agusta brand standard. The wall rack, brochure stand, glass cabinet and wall graphics are all fitted with a specially fabricated aluminium edge canopy detail which houses subtle LED lighting which casts a gentle wash of light over the units.
.
Finally we transformed the desk and filing cabinet using the aged oak vinyl and a hard wearing black laminate. A moulded illuminated edge canopy finished it off nicely.
It was a privilege to work with MV Agusta and Alf's Motorcycles and find an approved resolution to a fit issue. We would love to use our expertise to solve your signage issue so get in contact [email protected]
Supersized letter signage
Canary Wharf HSBC skyscraper signage installation
Braving the dizzying heights the Tara Signs installation crew installed the supersized illuminated HSBC letter signage at an impressive 656ft height.
The iconic signage stands at 5m high and is 30m long. Using in total over 4 miles of LED lighting. Let's put this into perspective - only the blue whale, the largest living creature comes close to the size of the sign, at around 30m in length and 4-6m in height - as a result the supersized sign is 'as big as a whale'!
To engineer and install supersized letters at this extreme height is challenging. For instance the use of reliable, resilient and long-lasting materials is highly important and building warranty and safety are obviously also paramount concerns.
Firstly working from a design and performance specification the Tara team developed a manufacturable proposal. Then secondly they designed the construction of the signs. Working with structural engineers they agree the specification and all-important installation methodology. They then needed to be mindful of the wind loadings and method of attachment to the building. Finally considering material choices that provide low maintenance durability and longevity.
We manufactured the face of the supersized letter signage using a specially formulated LED enhancing PolyCarbonate dual colour film. This enables the letters to be black during the day and illuminated white at night. The encasing structure of the letters and logo were made with aluminium. Due to the sheer size of the letters, they were manufactured in smaller sections so that they could be transported easily and also fit in the service lift of the building and eventually passed through the window frames on the 40th floor of the building for installation.
It was a privileged to work with HSBC (one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world) proving our ability to deliver quality engineering at great heights.

Costa Coffee signage install
The Tara Signs crew worked around the clock to meet Costa Coffee's 48-hour timeline for the installation of the Costa Coffee signage.
Along with the new window graphics and projection sign the Costa Coffee site was transformed, receiving high praise from Project Manager Carrice Noble...
'I can't thank you enough for managing to do this before the store opened'.
Carrice Noble
With the breadth of knowledge and understanding needed for the smooth running of a signage project in the fast-moving Cafe environment and due to the flexibility of our production facility, no challenge is too large. A few phone calls and schedule tweeks later, the production crew were in the workshop working throughout the night to achieve the client's short deadline.
All in time for an evening expedition by the installation crew to install this quick turnaround out of hours to be ready for opening the next day.
Our dedicated team worked to the Costa Coffee signage design brief fabricating the Fascias from 2 mm aluminium and powder coating them in Costa's corporate colour. The Costa letter returns were hand fabricated from stainless steel with router cut opal faces.
The Coffee text was router cut and inlaid with 10mm opal, and all the letters were internally illuminated via our superior LED modules which offer a valuable 5 year warranty with ease of maintenance and longevity of service.
It has been a privilege to work with Costa Coffee 'the first UK coffee chain to control the whole coffee-making process from start to finish' proving our ability to deliver under strict time restraints.
