NHS Foundation
The Brief
We were delighted to be awarded the contract for the supply and installation of Wayfinding Signage for Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust after an intensive OJEU tender process.
Guy’s and St Thomas’ is one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK and comprises two of London’s most famous teaching hospitals, also Evelina London Children’s Hospital on the St Thomas’ site and both adult and children’s community services in Lambeth and Southwark.
The contract is for the provision of Wayfinding Signage and services, including external and internal signs. The Trust’s wayfinding strategy was developed to incorporate a unique sign system which continues to be implemented into existing locations and new developments.
The Approach
Our signs are carefully designed and located to make finding your way around the hospital as straight forward as possible. The MMS (Modular Sign System) is a key component of the wayfinding signage at Guy’s and St Thomas’s. MSS is a robust and flexible sign product, a simple assembly of strong, lightweight and interchangeable aluminium profiles. The profiles have dovetails on one side which slide together to form a complete sign. There are no backplates allowing the signs to be double sided. Signs cam be extended and contracted by simply adding or removing profiles. A discreet locking mechanism ensures the sign remains complete and securely fastened at all times.
