The Brief
For this project our experienced team at Tara Signs designed, manufactured and installed the 5m high and 30m long illuminated HSBC logos to 4 elevations of 8 Canada Square, Canary Wharf.
The Approach
To engineer and install the signage at this extreme height was a challenge. We needed to use reliable, resilient and long lasting materials as building warranty and safety were paramount concerns. We took into account the wind loadings and the method of attachment to the building as well as material choices that would provide low maintenance, durability and longevity.
The faces of the lettering was manufactured using a specially formulated LED enhancing Polycarbonate. The letter faces were then decorated with a dual colour film which means they appear black during the day and turn white when illuminated at night.
